About the firm

We were set up to do a narrower job than most agencies advertise. The capital already has firms that can flood a vacancy. It has fewer that will sit with a chair for ninety minutes, write down the politics of the hire, and then refuse to add a fourth name for the sake of looking busy.

The rooms are small on purpose. Search work happens in conversation, on paper, and in the patience to wait for the right no. Visits are by appointment. If you are looking for a reception the size of a barge, you have the wrong house.

We do not maintain a public jobs board. Live work is discussed with the people it concerns. That is a feature, not a gap on the website.

Partners own their searches from the first sitting to the first ninety days in post. Researchers support mapping; they do not run the client relationship. Fees are agreed in a letter. We do not discount our way onto a volume list that treats partners as inventory.

The firm’s name is Metropolitan because the work is London: West End practices, City functions, and the quieter property portfolios that sit between them. We will travel. We will not pretend a role in Manchester is a “London brief with a train”.
